Little Landry Family Farm

Hammond, Louisiana

Their Journey

Little Landry Family Farm began with just six laying hens and quickly grew into a diverse poultry program. What started as a simple backyard flock evolved into a deeper passion, expanding into show birds and eventually the unique world of Kikirikis.

Why Kikirikis

Chastity was drawn to Kikirikis for their incredible variety and charm. From bone toppy to bolo traits, these birds offer endless diversity—all in a pocket-sized package that is hard to resist.

Breeding Focus

Her program prioritizes small stature and extremely short legs, while embracing the creative side of breeding through developing beautiful and unique color combinations. Rather than rushing outcomes, her approach reflects patience and enjoyment of the process.

A Family-Centered Flock

What truly sets Little Landry Family Farm apart is the role of family. Her three children—the “Little Landrys”—help select birds for the program, making this a shared passion across generations.

With over 100 birds, each one is handled daily and recognized by personality. This hands-on approach ensures a deeply connected and attentive environment.

Breeding Philosophy

Health and well-being come first.
Chastity emphasizes raising birds that live happy, healthy lives while maintaining honesty and integrity in her breeding practices. Transparency in lines and clear communication are key values within her program.

Advice for New Breeders

Kikirikis require patience and attention to detail.

  • Do not rush the hatching process

  • Keep eggs upright during early incubation and again at hatch

  • Be prepared to support chicks, including grinding feed for proper nutrition

Building a successful line takes time, and every hatch is an opportunity to learn.

A Favorite from the Flock

Rafiki, her original Kikiriki, holds a special place in the program. Known for his sweet yet protective nature, he represents the heart behind her flock.

What She Loves Most

The affection and personality of Kikirikis make them truly special.

Despite their small size, they bring big energy—something she describes best in three words: Loud. Hungry. Funny.
